At African Sketchbook Fine Art Fabrics we merge fabric with art by hand painting
onto fabric - for curtains, upholstery and wall cladding. We complement the fabric
with coordinating tie-backs and tassels.

THE HOUSE OF PASSEMENTRIE
|
Passementerie, trim, braid, fringe, whatever you call it, provides the finishing
touch on windows and soft furnishings, it makes a statement, it is handmade and
often costs more per metre than the fabric, to which it is attached, but not from
the House of Passementerie.
The House of Passementerie's first collection, brought out in August 2006, introduced
bullions, fringes, braids and tiebacks, in rich tones of reds and greens, browns,
golds and neutrals. Early 2008 sees the insertion of two new pages, incorporating
more neutrals, some blue and black and some novelty items have been added to the
book, which comes in an easy to carry and easy to use lever arch system.
These trims will add a sense of grandeur and individuality to any interior, without
"blowing the budget"!

LULA FABRICS
|
Lula Fabrics was launched in 2007 after Melissa Kerkhoff, Lula Fabrics' founder and sole owner, had worked for 14 years in top fabric houses.
Sourcing her base fabrics locally, Melissa has her designs hand-screen printed onto
them for a block-printed look and feel. Her range has a refreshing and playful feel
that is often conveyed through her colour combinations – lime on silver, pink on
red, an elegant silver on white – all printed on natural fibres such as cotton and
linen.
